TECHNICAL SUPPORT ENGINEER- MECHANICAL

Job Purpose:

  • Provide application & technical support to mechanical sales team for complete range of mechanical products includes but not limited to Pumps, Tanks, Water Heaters & Calorifiers, Boilers, Heat Exchangers, Valves, Pipes & Fittings etc.
  • Do computer selection, Prepare Technical proposals, Product presentations, pre-qualifications and technical submittal for Mechanical products.
  • Provide all required support for testing, commissioning and after sales support.

Job Scope:

Ensure design and system selection are compatible with customer requirements and international standards, provide technical proposal and support to sales team.

Technical work:

  • Respond to client introducing the appropriate products, which meet the client’s requirement.
  • Prepare computer selection and Provide technical support and guidance to customers/sales engineers on orders, quotations, installation and troubleshooting.
  • Prepare technical submittals and follow up with sales engineer until getting consultant/customer approval.
  • Communicate with manufacturers and local suppliers to arrange for quotations, negotiation, order processing and technical support.
  • Cooperate with sales engineers to prepare quotations follow up reports.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge.
  • Assist as required in pump/valves commissioning/Start up, installation and trouble-shooting.
  • Organize and analyze workload distribution to achieve sales target of each brand within the division.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is a must.

Previous Experience in GRUNDFOS, XYLEM & KSB is a MUST..

SKILLS DESIRED:

Computer literate, MS-Office, Excellent technical sales capabilities, customer service focused Good interpersonal relationship, Good communication and presentation skills.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE DESIRED:

Minimum 5 year experience in Technical Sales and support of Pumps and any of above Mechanical Products.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Major Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Responsible in achieving the agreed monthly / annual sales and profit objectives
  • Responsible in the development and growth of sales, profitability and market shares
  • Provides prompt and accurate invoicing of sales and profit opportunities
  • Visits new potential customers to develop customer base, solicit orders, collect cash and process inquiries
  • Reports to management any aspect of company operations deemed to be contrary to company interests or objectives, particularly with regards to the loss of profits / assets or adversely affecting company image
  • Reports to management on a regular basis, sales progress, market characteristics and competitor activities
  • At all times operate in a responsible manner, projecting an image of sincerity and professionalism
  • Attend meetings, conference and training sessions as required
  • Coordinate with sales team for achievement of yearly / monthly target as against budget
  • Maintain effective communication with all the existing and prospective customers

Job Scope:

    1. Achieving sales target with specific gross margin and expand Mannai’s Market share in Qatari Market.
    2. Generate sales and Empower business of the following Building Material Products:
    • Waterproofing Membranes
    • Self-adhesive membranes
    • Protection Boards
    • Waterproofing Materials
    • Geotextiles materials
    • Construction Chemicals
    1. Scanning the market for identifying and developing clients.
    1. Respond to clients introducing appropriate products, which meet the client’s requirement.
    1. Preparing estimates and quotations, and handling enquiries and tenders.
    2. Follow up material submittals ensuring that they are in compliance with specifications.
    3. Support and assist consultants for efficient and economic product.
    4. Responsible for site visits and follow up installations and subcontractors to ensure smooth running of work.
    5. Obtaining information about competitors’ products and prices.
    1. Attending and solving customer complaints.
    1. While major focus shall be on the products as mentioned in the job purpose, should also be able to promote any new products lines added to division.

Preferred Education:

Knowledge and experience in the above product portfolio in any of the reputed brands: BITUMAT, DERMABIT, BITUMODE, FOSROC, SIKA, WEBER, ASPEC & OTHERS SIMILAR.

Qatar / Gulf experience is an advantageous.
