Quantity Surveyor – UK

Responsibilities:

  •  Work with the Business Development Team to secure projects
  • Assist with developing and preparing main contract documents
  • Appoint the main contractor
  • Ensure the projects are insured sufficiently
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts for the projects
  • Negotiate and prepare guarantees with the client and main contractor
  • Prepare and adjudicate tenders and appoint design consultants
  • Correspond and meet with all stakeholders on a regular basis to ensure valuations are updated and the cost to completion is up to date and agreed
  • Manage the Main contract as a client representative
  • Manage the project cash flows
  • Ensure APIO is protected against liability for damages and penalties
  • Maximize company bottom line within reason
  • Visit site periodically, communicating with the Site Managers regarding progress and variations
  • Re-measure works as required
  • Prepare monthly progress claims
  • Measure and value new rates and variations
  • Continuously update the estimate of the final contract value
  • Prepare and evaluate tender responses, adjudicate, negotiate, and appoint Sub Contractors and direct consultants and contractors
  • Evaluate main contractor tenders
  • Manage Main Contract documentation for payments and final accounts
  • Monitor and report on company costs, allowable and budgets
  • Report commercially monthly, detailing cost reconciliations
  • Authorize and code purchase orders
  • Monitor and control petty cash, ensuring all documentation is completed
  • Manage the document control, ensuring all documents are stored and distributed appropriately
  • Delegate responsibilities to others in the Commercial Department where necessary
  • Mentor and motivate others within the team
  • Monitor and manage performance where necessary
  • On contract completion, handing over the completion certificates, retrieving guarantees, and ensuring all relevant documentation is archived

Trade Finance Manager – Dubai

The Trade Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the centralized trade finance operations activities across all the subsidiaries and the geographical areas of operation, including but not limited to Guarantees and Letters of Credit

Responsibilities:

  •  Lead and manage the centralized trade finance operations activities – Guarantees, Letters

of Credit, and Supply Chain Finance.

  • Ensure that the Guarantees and Letters of Credit are timely processed
  • Manage the bank relationship for all the trade finance operations matters and issues
  • Lead and manage the subcontractor guarantees
  • Review the wording of guarantees and advise recommendation when required
  • Review projects requirements in terms of Guarantees and Letters of Credit
  • Liaise with the finance, commercial, tendering, and legal teams when required
  • Prepare Trade Finance reporting
  • Lead special projects (Trade Finance Transformation / Trade Finance Solution)
  • Provide information to the banks / auditors when required
  • Implement and improve Trade Finance processes, policies, and procedures
  • Review facility documentation for existing and new financing facilities
  • Any other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Banking or Finance or a professional qualification in Trade Finance
  • 5 years+ proven experience in Trade Finance including experience in Managerial role 

Technical Skills

  • Must be familiar with the Guarantees wording / clauses and rules – ICC – URDG758
  • Must be familiar with the Letters of Credit types, terms, and rules – ICC – UCP600 and Incoterms 

Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including ability to work independently and with the different teams
  • Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be highly detail-oriented, well organized, and able to manage time and operations effectively
